| The restoration process is identical to that employed for CD production. However the DVD format allows for surround sound mixes.
There are two different DVD formats.
1. DVD-Video
The DVD-Video can be played on every standard DVD player much like an everyday CD.
This format allows for up to 3 different channels. As standard, we employ high-resolution 24 bit stereo on DVD-Video. If your DVD player does not support the 24 bit format, we can also press a standard 16 bit CD channel on the DVD.
If you are considering the surround sound option, please ensure that your DVD player supports the compressed sound format "Dolby Digital" or "DTS Surround".
(Despite the name, with this format we do not as standard include visual (picture or video) information. )
2. DVD-Audio
The DVD-Audio currently represents the highest standard in music production. All DVD-Audios are produced using the high-resolution 24 bit format. Up to 2 soundstreams can be written. Optionally a further soundstream in the form of a 24 bit multichannel (surround) track is possible.
For both options (DVD-Video and DVD-Audio) surround sound is created using the 4.0 (2/2) option. This means 2 front speakers (left/right) and 2 rear speakers (left surround/right surround).
(As with the DVD-Video option, we do not as standard include visual (picture or video) information on the DVD.)
Please Note: Before ordering a DVD product, please ensure that your player supports this format. Further information can be found on our Download page under Device List.
